Recent Advances in Communications and Networking

Description

The emerging communication and networking technologies and the way in which these are being integrated into the human, industrial, and social framework have made it evident that there are a number of related technical and socioeconomic areas whose understanding is still less than satisfactory and in which long-term research is needed. Meanwhile, a number of emerging concepts like cloud computing, internet of things, web 3.0, and green radio have been proposed in communication and networking. The research on emerging communication and networking technologies is considered as a global research challenge. Therefore, we intend to organize a special issue for researchers, engineers, and practitioners to share their work on recent advances in communications and networking.

This special issue focuses on the hottest and cutting edge topics in communications and networking. Original papers on recent advances in communications and networking technologies are invited. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Energy efficiency for wired, wireless, and mobile networks
  • Life-cycle assessment of networks and network components
  • Measurements and models for energy consumption of networks and networks' elements
  • Quality of experience for IPTV and VOIP networks
  • Algorithms and applications for Big Data Networks
  • Mathematical methods and optimization for cloud computing
  • Machine to machine services/patterns and their communication and networking support
  • Mobile wireless networks for car traffic surveillance and management
  • Experimental network measurements and characterization for urban environments
  • Interconnection between IP and sensor networks
  • Machine to machine communications in IoT scenarios
  • Communications software, services, and multimedia application
  • Social media and social networking
  • Software defined networking
  • Other related topics

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/tswj/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/tswj/communications/racn/ according to the following timetable:
