Motivation for performing domain adaptation. The left panel shows the large difference between the source and target domain distributions before domain adaptation, which can lead to poor model generalization performance. The right figure shows that after domain adaptation, the source and target domain distributions are significantly smaller than before, which is more conducive to obtaining a more generalized model.
