Artificial Intelligence and Computing on Industrial Applications

Description

The role of AI (Artificial Intelligence), big data, and mobile computing continues to increase as the 4th Industrial Revolution progresses. With the rapid development of wireless devices and the emerging AI empowered technologies, AI-based wireless applications have received wide attention in recent years. Recently, AI and computing technologies have been applied increasingly to enterprise information systems and enterprise production processes.

With the explosion of big data in wireless devices and mobile devices, novel mobile computing and communication techniques assisted by data mining, machine learning, and other advanced AI techniques are available to raise user experiences through developing high-performance systems and providing intelligent services.

Thus, innovative AI-based technologies are emerging in industry applications to address the advanced demands which cannot be met by the traditional wireless processing and communication technologies, such as high throughput, high mobility, low latency, heterogeneity and scalability. Moreover, how to process large-scale and heterogeneous data efficiently, economically, intelligently, and safely is also another big challenge.

This Special Issue focuses on the fundamental strategies, theories, algorithms, and applications in AI-empowered mobile computing and communication with industry applications. This Special Issue therefore seeks original research and review articles which can contribute to the AI-based smart industry development through a multidimensional, multidisciplinary, and multilevel perspective.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • AI-based fog/edge/mobile computing
  • AI-based placement of edge nodes for wireless applications
  • Cost-efficient resource management for mobile computing
  • Service performance optimization in AI platforms
  • Privacy/security/trust issues for AI-based wireless applications
  • Novel applications based on AI and big data
  • Energy-aware offloading methods for industry applications with AI
  • Artificial intelligence and big data on productivity
  • Advanced artificial intelligence and big data algorithms
  • Artificial intelligence and big data security and privacy protection in wireless networks
