Transmission electron micrographs of intracellular microorganisms detected in the necrotizing space occupying lesion of the brain showed in Figure 4. Note the typical ultrastructure feature of a stercorarian amastigote. Figure 5(a) shows a transverse section of parasite with the discoidal kinetoplast (arrow) while Figure 5(b) shows the presence of a short flagellum or pseudoflagellum.
