Retracted: To Analyze the Mechanism of SalB Regulating SIRT1 to Inhibit NLRP3 and Its Ameliorative Effect on Tubulogastric Junction Tumor Lesions Complicated with Myocardial Injury

Good resilience skills support effective and timely adjustment to demanding situations in the workplace. Existing tools are insufficient to develop and evaluate workplace interventions to improve employee’s resilience skills. The aim of this study was to develop and validate a Resilience Skills Questionnaire (RSQ) using the key constructs of social cognitive theory—self-efficacy, self-regulation, and social support—as a theoretical framework. Following DeVellis’ guidelines for scale development, first an expert panel of thirteen professors was recruited to support the item development stages and determine content validity. At this stage, the initial pool of 38 items was reduced to 25 items and CVR and CVI were calculated as 0.92 and 0.93, respectively, indicating good content validity. A second panel of ten health professionals confirmed face validity. An online survey comprised of the 25 developed items was then completed by 336 health professionals working in urban healthcare centers in Shiraz, Iran, in November 2021. The data were used to assess the psychometrics of the questionnaire according to its hypothesized three-dimensional structure. Confirmatory factor analysis yielded a final model of seventeen items in three dimensions, self-efficacy (six items), social support (six items), and self-regulation (five items), with good (0.86), social support (0.83), and self-regulation (0.86). Based on these results, the RSQ can be used as a standard and valid measure to develop and evaluate the effect of educational intervention programs to improve resilience skills and reduce job stress.

Development and Validation of a Resilience Skills Questionnaire for Health Sector Professionals Based on Social Cognitive Theory

<i>Introduction</i>. Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder with no conclusive remedy. <i>Yohimbine</i>, found in <i>Rauwolfia vomitoria</i>, may reduce brain inflammation by targeting tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF<i>α</i>), implicated in AD pathogenesis. Metoserpate, a synthetic compound, may inhibit TNF<i>α</i>. The study is aimed at assessing the potential utility of repurposing metoserpate for TNF<i>α</i> inhibition to reduce neuronal damage and inflammation in AD. The development of safe and effective treatments for AD is crucial to address the growing burden of the disease, which is projected to double over the next two decades. <i>Methods</i>. Our study repurposed an FDA-approved drug as TNF<i>α</i> inhibitor for AD management using structural similarity studies, molecular docking, and molecular dynamics simulations. <i>Yohimbine</i> was used as a reference compound. Molecular docking used SeeSAR, and molecular dynamics simulation used GROMACS. <i>Results</i>. Metoserpate was selected from 10 compounds similar to <i>yohimbine</i> based on pharmacokinetic properties and FDA approval status. Molecular docking and simulation studies showed a stable interaction between metoserpate and TNF<i>α</i> over 100 ns (100000 ps). This suggests a reliable and robust interaction between the protein and ligand, supporting the potential utility of repurposing metoserpate for TNF<i>α</i> inhibition in AD treatment. <i>Conclusion</i>. Our study has identified metoserpate, a previously FDA-approved antihypertensive agent, as a promising candidate for inhibiting TNF<i>α</i> in the management of AD.

In Silico Identification of a Potential TNF-Alpha Binder Using a Structural Similarity: A Potential Drug Repurposing Approach to the Management of Alzheimer’s Disease

<i>Introduction</i>. The sperm DNA fragmentation index (DFI) is considered a valuable measure to assess male fertility, but the predictive value of DFI for the outcomes in assisted reproductive technology (ART) is still controversial. Therefore, this study is aimed at investigating the effect of requesting a DFI test or performing ART without DFI on the results observed in the embryology laboratory (number of embryos, fertilization rate, and embryo quality) after intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). <i>Methods</i>. This retrospective study was conducted on infertile men who underwent ICSI and were referred to the Avicenna Infertility and Recurrent Abortion Treatment Center in Tehran from 2019 to 2022. The samples were categorized into two groups: a case group with DFI measurement and a control group without DFI measurement. regression. <i>Conclusions</i>. Although DFI measurement is used to assess male infertility, its importance as a predictor for the embryology outcomes after ICSI requires further evaluation and the determination of a cut-off point for predicting results. This study was based on retrospectively collected DFI data, and prospective studies confirming the superiority of ICSI outcomes are necessary.

Comparison of Embryological Results of Microinjection in Two Groups of Men with and without Requesting Sperm DNA Fragmentation Index Measurement

<i>Background</i>. Traditional herbal medicine practitioners in the Ashanti region of Ghana use the fruit peels of <i>Citrus limon</i> (L.) Osbeck (<i>C. limon</i>) in preventive and curative treatment of many cancers including liver cancer. This ethnobotanical claim remains to be verified scientifically. <i>Aim of the Study</i>. This study investigated prophylactic hepatoprotective and anti-HCC effects of <i>C. limon</i> peel extract (LPE) in CCl<sub>4</sub>/olive oil-induced HCC-like rats. <i>Materials and Methods</i>. After preparation of LPE, it was subjected to phytochemical screening using standard phytochemical methods. A total of 30 healthy adult male Sprague-Dawley rats (weighing 150-200 g) were randomly assigned into six groups of 5 rats each. Rats in the control group received olive oil (5 mL/kg <i>ip</i>) twice weekly for 16 weeks. Rats in the model group received CCl<sub>4</sub>/olive oil (2 mL/kg, <i>ip</i>) twice weekly for 16 weeks. Rats in capecitabine (10 mg/kg <i>po</i>) and LPE (50, 100, and 200 mg/kg <i>po</i>) groups received CCl<sub>4</sub>/olive oil (2 mL/kg, <i>i.p</i>) in the morning and their respective treatments in the afternoon twice a week for 16 weeks. Rats in all groups had free access to food and water <i>ad libitum</i>. Body weight and survival rates were monitored. Rats were sacrificed under deep anesthesia, blood was collected, and liver and other organs were isolated. Aspartate transaminase (AST), alanine transaminase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT), prothrombin time, bilirubin, C-reactive protein (CRP), alpha- (<i>α</i>-) fetoprotein (AFP), and liver histology were assessed. <i>Results</i>. Alkaloids, tannins, flavonoids, terpenoids, and saponins were detected in LPE. Model rats demonstrated increased serum levels of AFP, CRP, ALP, GGT, ALT, and AST, prothrombin time, total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, blood lymphocyte, and monocyte counts, but decreased serum albumin and total protein compared to control rats. Unlike the control, model rats demonstrated fat accumulation in periportal and centrilobular hepatocytes and neoplastic transformation. Semiquantitation of periodic acid Schiff- (PAS-) stained liver sections showed decreased glycogen storage in hepatocytes of model rats compared to control rats. Compared to the model, LPE treatment protected against CCl4-induced hepatocarcinogenesis, which was evidenced by decreased AFP, CRP, liver enzymes, total and direct bilirubin, prothrombin time, and blood lymphocyte and monocyte counts; attenuation of fat accumulation; and increased glycogen storage, albumin, and total protein. <i>Conclusion</i>. LPE abates CCl<sub>4</sub>-induced hepatocarcinogenesis by attenuating liver inflammation and improving metabolic, biosynthetic, and detoxification functions of the liver. The prophylactic hepatoprotective and anti-hepatocarcinogenic effects of LPE are attributable to its phytochemical composition raising hopes of finding potential anticancer bioactive compounds from <i>C. limon</i> fruit peels.
