Multimodal Photoacoustic Technology in Biomedical Applications

Description

The rapid evolution of technology in biomedical research has enhanced and widened the range of medical equipment. Research towards biomedical diagnostics equipment technologies must be developed to estimate the information regarding cognitive, physical, and cerebellum measurements of routinely acquired ultrasound images. These images provide information regarding anatomical, functional, and molecular information of internal organs.

Magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasonic imaging, and optical imaging have been explored by different research communities to develop multimodal systems. The development of multimodal systems is important in biomedical imaging to identify linguistic and paralinguistic traits using an automated screening tool. While examining the connotations, a large clinical data set is required as a part of postpartum standardized measurements in imaging processing.

The aim of this Special Issue is to bring together original research and review articles discussing photoacoustic multimodal imaging (PAMI) that integrates the concept of optics and ultrasonic systems in biomedical applications. Submissions can include the development of photothermal therapy, to monitor the effectiveness of the treatment plan and to assess the outcome of the therapy. We particularly welcome research mentioning how to treat cancer and nerve related issues.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Biomedical monitoring with PAMI
  • Cancer treatment modelling with PAMI
  • Brain tumour with PAMI
  • Oxygen detection using PAMI
  • Multimodal fusion multispectral imaging
  • Nerve related disorder identification using PAMI
  • Disease analysis using medical imaging
  • Medical diagnostic imaging
  • Medical robots
  • Capsule endoscopy
  • Image segmentation in the cerebellum
  • Imaging of brain malformations with PAMI
  • Imaging of degenerative nerve diseases with PAMI
  • Photoacoustic tomography
  • Photoacoustic medical resonance
