Oral health is an important factor in the maintenance of general health, wellbeing, and overall quality of life in pediatric patients. Preventive strategies should be implemented to reduce oral pathology in pediatric dentistry, due to the negative consequences on individuals and communities in terms of pain and suffering, functional impairments, and reduced quality of life.
Envisioning a transformational change in the management of oral healthcare, this Special Issue welcomes manuscripts that can contribute the knowledge necessary to effectively manage oral pathology in pediatric patients adopting multi-, inter-, and transdisciplinary perspectives.
This Special Issue will focus on oral pathology and oral health prevention and their impact on clinical practice, current oral health literacy, and policies. New technologies such as lasers or biomaterials will be welcomed in order to focus treatment of pediatric dental pathologies. In addition, the treatment of pediatric patients with additional needs will be considered in order to share problems and improve the awareness and knowledge of oral health in the pediatric population.
