Description
Since several years a great importance is given to use of products derived from natural resources (plant, fish, animals, and microorganisms) in the industry. This importance has occurred due to the requirement of consumers towards “green products” which are considered safer for health than the synthetics. Moreover, the diversity of chemical structure of natural molecules allows for the discovery of new biologically active compounds and permits the development of drugs or functional food. Besides, in the oleochemistry industry, the biofuel and biodiesel produced from natural resources have lower carbon emissions as compared to fossil fuels. In addition, the development of different bioprocess, particularly the techniques of biomolecules extraction and separation and the enzyme biocatalysis, has revolutionized the production of high-added value products from renewable bioresources and the valorization of raw material.
We invite authors to submit original research and review articles describing the production of biocompounds by extraction from natural resources or by enzymatic conversion and their use in industrial applications such as medical, chemical, agricultural, and food industries.
