New Approaches, Findings, and Diagnostics in Medical and Surgical Retina

Description

The retina is a very innovative subspecialty of ophthalmology and ophthalmologists are continuing to play major roles in keeping this an exciting and dynamic field. The amazing developments in OCT imaging, the use of smaller and smaller gauge instruments, and advances in cutting tools and pump systems all reflect the dedication of surgeons and the ophthalmic industry to improve patient outcomes through better diagnostics and machinery. At the same time, new drug therapies and new indications have changed the way that many diseases are treated. And of course the massive increase in the number of ophthalmic symposia and congresses around the world has enabled us to share information and discuss techniques at an unprecedented level and help ophthalmologists learn new skills and may ensure that patients and the general public are more aware of existing pathologies.

We would like to invite retina specialists and researchers to contribute original articles that will further this spirit of sharing information on new approaches, findings, and diagnostic methods in medical and surgical retina. The development of new strategies to treat retinal diseases and the evaluation of outcomes are welcome. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Recent developments in imaging systems
  • Advances in vitrectomy
  • Recent advances in diagnostics and management of macular edema

Before submission, authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/bmri/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/bmri/ophthalmology/nad/ according to the following timetable:
