Mathematical Model of the Effect of Interstitial Fluid Pressure on Angiogenic Behavior in Solid Tumors

Effect of varying the vascular hydraulic permeability, 𝐿 𝑝 (mm/s/mm Hg), in the tumor tissue on AGF concentrations (Figure 3(a)) and angiogenic activity (Figure 3(b)). The values of 𝛼 𝑡 = 2 , 6, 14 correspond to 𝐿 𝑝 = 3 . 6 × 1 0 7 , 3 . 7 × 1 0 6 , 1 . 8 6 × 1 0 5  mm/s/mm Hg. The parameter for host tissue was fixed at 𝛼 = 2 . This changes the shape of the resulting pressure profile and thus the interstitial fluid velocity.
