Schematic representation of emotional influence in our agent based model [9]. The horizontal layer describes the generation of an emotional expression dependent on the valence and the arousal of the agent. The vertical layer describes the generation an emotional information field from such expressions. denotes possible external events generating emotional information. The emotional field then influences the valence and arousal of all other agents. The formal expressions for these influences are given in Section 3.1.
