NLRP3 has an N-terminal pyrin domain, which interacts with the adaptor protein ASC via interactions between pyrin domains (PYD); a central adenosine triphosphatase (ATPase) domain known as NACHT, which comprises a nucleotide-binding domain (NBD), helical domain 1 (HD1), winged helix domain (WHD), and helical domain 2 (HD2); and a C-terminal leucine-rich repeat (LRR) domain [21].
