Abrogation of the male-sex bias in chronic hypoxia-induced PAH in SMC:BCL6+/− mice: hypertrophy of PA arterial wall thickness. Lungs derived from the experiment in Figure 4 were processed for histological sections and stained for elastin using Van Giesson’s reagent. Wall thickness of PA segments with a diameter < 80 μm was quantitated in terms of the ratio of 2x wall thickness/outer diameter as reported earlier [14].
