Immunogenic Evaluation of Ribosomal P-Protein Antigen P0, P1, and P2 and Pentameric Protein Complex P0-(P1-P2)2 of Plasmodium falciparum in a Mouse Model

Figure 5

Increased production of TGF-β and IL-10 during immunization with the recombinant ribosomal P. falciparum proteins. Two weeks after each vaccination (denoted here as I, II, and III), TGF-β (a) and IL-10 (b) were measured by the ELISA method in sera of immunized mice as well as the adjuvant control and untreated animals. Results are the for three determinations of pooled sera from six mice in each group. The differences were analyzed statistically with the Kruskal-Wallis test followed by the Dunn multiple comparison test. Statistically significant in comparison to the adjuvant group, . +Significantly different from the second immunization with the same protein, +, ++. (a) All the clamp-depicted bars have the same significance.
