Nano Particles in Material Development and Machinability of Engineering Materials

Description

New age materials are expected to have higher mechanical, tribological, and microstructural properties owing to the wide range of applications. This is achieved by incorporating nano particles in typical materials to design and develop composites. Additionally, the surface properties of various engineering materials can also be improved through surface modification. Surface modification can be done through nano particles infused in dielectric fluids, cutting fluids, lubricants, etc.

Material deterioration, waste of valuable resources, decreased productivity, and product loss/contamination are the major issues that industries face. Alloys, stainless steel, and other materials can corrode under certain conditions. It is critical to use appropriate methods to protect our materials and devices from corrosion. It is critical to disseminate knowledge to address the most recent advances in nanomaterials and their applications.

This Special Issue welcomes original research and review articles dealing with new fundamental concepts, structures, experimental and applied aspects of nanomaterials or coatings in one or more of the fields listed below, but not limited to them. We hope to provide a venue for nanocomposites experts, material engineers, and chemical engineers.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Nanocomposites
  • Nano powder reinforced hybrid composites
  • Surface modification with nano powder assisted machining process
  • Corrosion behaviour of nanocomposites
  • New raw material polymers for the development of nanomaterials
  • Synthesis, characterization, and applications of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), polymers, and zeolites
  • Porous nano/micro-structured material
  • Nano materials in biomedical applications
