Applications of Nanomaterials in Multifunctional Polymer Nanocomposites
Description
Applying functional nanomaterials to polymers is one of the most promising approaches to achieving multifunctional material systems with light weight and tailorable properties and functionalities. With long-lasting vitality and continuously rapid growth of nanotechnology and nanomaterials, the multifunctional polymer nanocomposites also promise a prosperous future in broad applications, such as light weight structures, electronic and energy systems, and biomedical applications.
Journal of Nanomaterials is an open access journal highlighting the continued growth and new challenges in nanomaterials science, engineering, and nanotechnology, both for application development and for basic research. We invite researchers from both academia and industry to submit their original research papers and review articles to this special issue of this journal on applications of functional nanomaterials in polymer nanocomposites. These articles should not only advance cutting-edge research in related areas, but also bring these life-shaping technologies and knowledge to general audiences and increase their awareness to the public. Both theoretical and experimental studies on the roles of nanomaterials in polymer nanocomposites and their effects on processing, structures, and properties are within the interests of this special issue.
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Novel processing technologies of polymer nanocomposites
- Novel characterization techniques and assessment tools of polymer nanocomposites
- Nanomaterials derived from renewable biomass for green nanocomposite applications
- Polymer nanocomposites for biomedical application, biomaterials, biotribology, and tissue engineering
- Nanomaterials in polymer nanocomposites for electronics and energy applications
- Polymer nanocomposites for automotive and airplane applications
