(c) Connector oligos only hybridize if both proteins are closer than 40 nm. (d) Ligation of the complex forms a circular template. (e) Rolling circle amplification. (f) Amplification yields a some hundredfold replication, and added fluorophore labelled probes highlight the reaction, resulting in a point-shaped signal.
