Fluid Dynamics and Computational Engineering

Description

Fluid dynamics is one of the most challenging and exciting research fields today because of the complexity of the subject and the wide range of applications. It concerns the motion of liquids and gases and their interaction with solid bodies. Deep understanding of the full complexity of fluid dynamics is essential for the study and control of many real world problems. The subject of fluid dynamics has been studied intensively worldwide both theoretically and experimentally and has been playing a vital role in the development of new sciences and technologies and optimization of industrial processes and engineering design.

This special issue is intended to present recent trends and advances of mathematical models and methods for the study of fluid dynamics and their applications to engineering problems. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • New non-Newtonian models for complex fluids
  • Functional analysis of boundary value problems for fluid dynamics
  • Novel computational methods
  • Modeling of complex industrial fluid flows and heat transfer
  • New analytical and numerical results for complex flow problems
  • Microflows and multiscale modeling
  • Application to traffic flow simulation
  • Application in biomedical engineering and industrial engineering

Before submission, authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/mpe/guidelines. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/mpe/fdce/ according to the following timetable:
