New Developments in Fluid Mechanics and Its Engineering Applications

Description

Fluid mechanics is an active field of research with many unsolved or partially solved problems in science and engineering. Fluid mechanics can be mathematically complex. Sometimes the problems can best be solved by numerical methods, typically using computers. Fluids have the ability to transport matter and its properties as well as transmit force; therefore fluid mechanics is a subject that is particularly open to cross-fertilization with other sciences and disciplines of engineering. The subject of fluid mechanics is highly relevant in such domains as mechanical, chemical, petrochemical, civil, metallurgical, biological, and ecological engineering.

The purpose of this special issue is to provide an opportunity for scientists, engineers, and practitioners to publish their latest theoretical and technological achievements in fluid mechanics and its various engineering applications. All the submissions are expected to have original ideas and new approaches. Papers on newly emerging areas of fluid mechanics are especially welcome. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Boundary layer flows
  • Nanofluids dynamics
  • Heat and mass transfer
  • Reactive flows
  • Hydromagnetic flows
  • Physiological flows
  • Hydrodynamics and thermal stability
  • Thermodynamics analysis of fluid flows
  • Newtonian and non-Newtonian flows
  • Computational fluid dynamics
  • Turbulent and chaotic fluid motions

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/mpe/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/mpe/ndfme/ according to the following timetable:
