<i>α</i>-Synuclein E46K Mutation and Involvement of Oxidative Stress in a <i>Drosophila</i> Model of Parkinson’s Disease

<div>Decreased climbing ability of <i>E46K α</i>-synuclein transgenic flies in a negative geotaxis assay. Dopaminergic neuronal expression of <i>SNCA</i><sup><i>E46K</i></sup> in the brain of transgenic flies was driven by the promoter <i>Ddc-Gal4</i>. The descendants showed age-dependent defects in their climbing ability compared to the control genotype. Six replicates of each genotype were analyzed.
