A comparison between the gene expression levels of ICAM-1, MCP-1, and VCAM-1 in astrocytes isolated from WKY/IZM and SHRSP/IZM during hypoxia and reoxygenation. The astrocytes isolated from WKY/IZM (a) or SHRSP/IZM (b) were incubated under hypoxia (1% O2, 24 hour) or hypoxia + reoxygenation (21% O2, 3 hour) as previously described [13, 15]. The ICAM-1, MCP-1, and VCAM-1 mRNA measurements were carried out as described in Figure 1 and in the text. The bars represent the mean ± SD (n = 4).
