Technology, Research, and Outlook of Coal Rock Dynamic Disasters in Deep Mining

Description

In recent years, coal rock dynamic disasters have become more serious with the gradual increase in mining intensity, and depth. The most typical coal rock dynamic disasters in deep mining are coal-gas outbursts, rock bursts, and coal-gas compound dynamic disasters. The occurrence mechanism of these coal rock dynamic disasters is complex, and there is usually no obvious macro precursor. It brings great difficulties to the prediction and prevention of these disasters in deep mining, which seriously restricts efficient coal mining and global energy security. Therefore, it is of great significance to study the causes, prevention, and controls of coal rock dynamic disaster in deep mining.

The occurrence of coal rock dynamic disaster is the instability process of coal rock under high stress. To understand the mechanism of dynamic disasters, it is necessary to master the coal rock fracture and multifield coupling characteristics. Meanwhile, traditional monitoring and early warning methods are not developed enough to meet the needs of deep mining. Thus, it is critical to create a multi-parameter comprehensive identification and early warning of disaster risk based on multi precursor information fusion method, with the help of artificial intelligence, big data, deep learning.

The aim of this Special Issue is to solicit original research articles and review papers reflecting the advances in the research on the occurrence mechanism, monitoring, and early warning of coal rock dynamic disasters. Submissions including rock mechanics in deep mining, multi-scale and multifield coupling analysis, intelligent prediction, and precise prevention control of coal rock dynamic disasters are highly encouraged.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Multi-scale/field coupling failure characteristics of coal and rock
  • Shock dynamic mechanical characteristics, and constitutive theory of coal and rock
  • Shock or vibration characteristics caused by mining disturbance
  • Energy dissipative theory of coal, and rock during dynamic failure
  • Stability analysis theory, and control of deep surrounding rock
  • Hydraulic fracturing, gas drainage, and gas seepage of coal and rock
  • Microseismic, acoustic emission, and electromagnetic radiation responses under shock/blasting loading
  • Physical experiments or numerical simulation of rock burst, coal-gas outburst, and compound dynamic disasters
  • Mechanisms of coal rock dynamic disaster in deep mining
  • Big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and other technologies in monitoring, and preventing coal rock dynamic disaster
