Description

Fluid machinery has been widely used in agriculture, hydroelectric power plants, and chemical industry, among other applications, for various transport processes of different kinds of fluids. It is common for flow-induced unsteady forces on fluid machinery and systems to generate vibration, and the vibration, in turn, induces additional sound and may even modify the unsteady fluid forces.

These complex processes have a significant influence on the safety and reliable operation of fluid machinery and systems, which can be the source of unscheduled downtime or dangerous situations. Demands for higher frequencies, enhanced reliability, reduced noise, and longer lifespan require an effectively controlled fluid machinery and system. Therefore, it is important to collect up-to-date investigations on the root cause of vibrations in fluid machinery and systems by theoretical, numerical, or experimental methods.

This Special Issue seeks high-quality original research focusing on the latest novel advances regarding the unsteady phenomena, vibration, and control of all kinds of fluid machinery and systems. Original research and review articles are welcome.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
