CD8+ T Cells: GITR Matters

GITR function in antiviral immunity. Treatment with anti-GITR antibody induces activation of CD8+ cells through upregulation of GITR, release of IFN- 𝛾 , Granzyme B, and nuclear translocation of NF- 𝜅 B with subsequent transcription of target genes. GITRL is expressed in dendritic cells.
