Advances in Applications of Polymer Nanocomposites

Call for Papers

Polymers are increasingly being used in numerous cutting-edge technologies owing to their robust behavior, versatile properties, and comparably easier process ability. They serve as excellent host matrices for nanocomposite materials and can easily be tailored to suit various requirements. Polymer nanocomposites involve fillers in the nanometer scale and demonstrate significantly different properties than in bulk due to the variations in the interaction with the host matrices and morphology and created great interest both in the academics and in industry. A general feature of most of the polymers, that is, relatively low strength, coupled with low impact strength, has considerably been improved with the emergence of polymer nanocomposites.

In this edition, our focus will be on the advances in the applications of polymer nanocomposites. We are seeking publications in the form of original research articles or review papers addressing recent advancements in the field of polymer nanocomposites.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • The applicability of polymer nanocomposites in the fields of
  • Industrial materials (heat and flame resistance, high impact and scratch resistance, UV resistance, antistatic, and dielectric)
  • Smart materials including smart sensors and actuators (artificial muscles)
  • Membranes (gas/gas, gas/liquid, and liquid/liquid separations)
  • Gaskets
  • Catalysts
  • Desalination (antiscalants)
  • Water treatment materials
  • Biocompatible/degradable/renewable materials
  • Packaging/films
  • Drug delivery
  • Energy generation
  • Energy storage
  • Construction/building industry
  • Military applications
  • Biomedical industry
  • Agricultural/food industry
