Medicinal Practice of Bioactive Compounds (Natural/Synthetic): An Insight into Gastrointestinal Disorders

Description

During the past two decades, technological advances used in the management of individuals with gastrointestinal disorders are outstanding. On parallel, therapeutic industries demandingly are inclined to commercialize novel therapeutic remedies in the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders. Synthetic bioactive compounds and herbal medicine have been investigated for their biological activities in treatment of various gastrointestinal disorders, and several great reports about their therapeutic effects represent an appropriate starting point for those interested in the efficacy and safety of these therapeutics. The prevalence of active gradients compounds and of herbal medicine in therapies has increased at an exponential rate both at national and international medical communities.

We particularly take an interest in manuscripts that report critical findings in medicinal practice for treatment of gastrointestinal disorders generated by eminent researchers in their respective fields. Original research articles as well as review articles are welcome. Key aims of reviews are to provide systematic and substantial coverage of mature subjects, evaluations of progress in specified areas, and/or critical assessments of emerging technologies. Attributes of the issue, we believe, are its precise focus on newly synthetized compounds, novel active ingredients, and herbal, complementary, and alternative medicine (CAM) in the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders. Moreover, articles about the use of novel animal and in vitro models to evaluate GI therapeutics will be considered. A thorough knowledge of these practices provides comprehensive medical care. This issue will incorporate new high-quality scientific evidence as the basis of rational treatment and emerging developments in new approaches to patient management, reflecting recent trends in medicinal practice of novel therapeutics (natural or synthetic compounds). Potential topics include but are not limited to:

  • Functional dyspepsia
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Inflammatory bowel disease
  • Diarrhea and constipation
  • Liver disease
  • Gastrointestinal malignancies
  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease
  • Food-borne infectious enteritis

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/bmri/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/bmri/pharmacology/igd/ according to the following timetable:
