TiO2 Photocatalytic Materials 2014

Description

Semiconductor photocatalytic materials are of great significance in solar energy conversion and environmental remediation. To overcome serious drawbacks of these materials with respect to narrow light-response range and low quantum efficiency, a variety of strategies have been developed in the past decades to enhance the light harvesting and excitation as well as the charge transfer against recombination. Among various semiconductor photocatalysts, titania is the most important one because of its biological and chemical inertness, nontoxicity, cost-effectiveness, and strong oxidizing power under UV and visible light irradiation. However, the photocatalytic activity of titania must be further enhanced from the viewpoint of practical use and commerce.

To achieve this purpose, we invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts to understand the fabrication, characterization, properties, and application of highly active TiO2-based and other related photocatalytic materials. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Fabrication of TiO2 with various morphologies
  • Surface modification and doping of TiO2
  • Facet-mediated photocatalytic materials
  • Hierarchically porous photocatalytic materials
  • First-principles study of photocatalytic materials
  • Photoelectrochemistry of photocatalytic materials
  • TiO2 applications in water and air purification and environmental remediation
  • TiO2 applications in hydrogen production and CO2 conversion
  • TiO2-based dye-sensitized solar cells
  • Other novel non-TiO2 photocatalytic materials

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ijp/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/ijp/pcm14/ according to the following timetable:
