Lubomir Hadjiiski

Lubomir Hadjiiski received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from the Technical University, Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1990 and 1991, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Kassel, Kassel, Germany, in 1996. In 1992, he served as a Visiting Researcher at Reading University, Reading, UK, and, during 1996-1997, he became a Research Associate at Clarkson University, Potsdam, NY, USA. In 1997, he joined the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, where he is currently a Professor in the Department of Radiology. Since 1997, he has been developing computer-aided diagnosis systems for the detection and characterization of breast, lung, urinary tract, and head and neck cancers. He also has been developing systems for treatment response monitoring of cancer. He authored or coauthored more than 120 peer-reviewed journal publications. His research interests include computer-aided diagnosis, pattern recognition, neural networks, predictive models, image processing, medical imaging, and control systems. His current research involves design of decision support systems for detection and diagnosis of cancer in different organs and quantitative analysis of image biomarkers for treatment response monitoring.
