Yibin Feng is currently an Associate Professor, Assistant Director (education) in the School of Chinese Medicine, The University of Hong Kong, Pokfulam, Hong Kong. Feng received the Bachelor degree in Chinese medicine from Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Kunming, China. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in molecular medicine from Hokkaido University School of Medicine, Sapporo, Japan. He finished postdoctoral research in molecular pharmacology at Hokkaido University in 1999. Being an expert in the study of Chinese Materia Medica, pharmacology and toxicology of Chinese medicines, Feng’s research interest is focused on clinical trial and experimental study for cancer, diabetes, hepatic, and renal diseases by using recently developed techniques in OMICS, pharmacology, and immunology. He has published over 100 publications in English, Japanese, and Chinese in these areas. As a Ph.D. supervisor and principal investigator, his research was supported by grants from the Research Council of The University of Hong Kong, The Research Grant Committee (RGC) of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Government-Matching Grant Scheme, Pong Ding Yueng Endowment Fund for Education and Research in Chinese-Western Medicine, Wong’s Donation for Molecular Cancer Research in Chinese Medicines, Hong Kong Hospital Authority’s funding for Chinese Medicine, and so on. He is also committed to do substitute research for some endangered species used in Chinese medicine.
