Yuukou Horita

Yuukou Horita received the B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and electronic engineering from the Nagaoka University of Technology, Nagaoka, Japan, in 1984, 1986, and 1995, respectively. In 1995, he joined the Department of Electronics and Computer, University of Toyama, Toyama, Japan, where he is currently a Vice Dean and a Professor. Horita is a Member of Video Quality Experts Group (VQEG) and a Board Member of the study group on Image Media Quality of the Engineering Sciences Society, the Institute of Electronics, Information, and Communication Engineers, Tokyo, Japan. He is currently engaged in research on quality assessment, intelligent transport systems, and image processing. Horita is a pioneering figure in the IQA/VQA research community. He has published numerous papers on IQA and VQA, and he is the curator of the very popular MICT image quality database.
