Paolo Renna

Paolo Renna received his “laurea” degree (2000) in mechanical engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Basilicata, from the Polytechnic of Bari. He holds a doctoral degree in Advance Production Systems (2004). He is Assistant Professor of Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Basilicata since 2002 where its academic courses are: integrated manufacturing systems, manufacturing technology and quality management. The main research activities concern the development of Multi Agent System approaches in distributed production planning and scheduling of manufacturing systems; negotiation protocols and strategies in e-marketplace context; capacity sharing in network production systems by game theory approaches; capacity investment decisions in network of independent partners by game theory, fuzzy engine and Monetcarlo simulation. He had collaborations with University of Palermo, IWB at the Technical University of Munchen (Germany) and the MTA SZTAKI, Computer and Automation Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences within the INTERLINK 2004-2006 program. He was scientific responsible for several research activities of fellow researchers and Ph.D. students and participated to several research projects within COFIN program. He is also involved in several technology transfer projects.
