Michael Fassbender

Michael Fassbender obtained his Ph.D. degree in chemistry and nuclear chemistry from the University of Cologne, Cologne, Germany, in 1997. Fassbender currently holds the position of a Senior Radiochemist at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, Los Alamos, NM, USA. His research interests are in the areas of radionuclide production, nuclear data measurement, radiolabeling, and radioisotope separation chemistry. After a two‐year Postdoc Fellowship at iThemba LABS, South Africa, in the field of cyclotron radionuclide production, he came to Los Alamos as a Postdoc Research Associate in 2000. He became a Permanent Staff in 2002 and has taken on many technical, scientific, and scholarly responsibilities within the US Department of Energy’s National Isotope Program.
