Carl Feng

Carl Feng completed training as a Physician in China and received his Ph.D. degree in immunology at the University of Sydney in Australia. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow (2001-2005) and later a Staff Scientist (2005-present) in the Immunobiology Section, Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Md, USA. Dr. Feng has worked extensively on animal models of mycobacterial infection. His research program focuses on understanding the immune mechanisms that regulate host resistance to persistent intracellular pathogens, M. tuberculosis in particular, with the hope of developing novel interventions for preventing and treating chronic infectious diseases in humans.
