Khalid H. Zawawi

Khalid H. Zawawi is a Professor of Orthodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He is an International Member of the American Association of Orthodontics and Fellow of the World Federation of Orthodontists. He received his Certificate in Orthodontics and Doctor of Science Degree in Oral Biology from Boston University, Boston, MA, USA, and completed a Fellowship Certification Program in temporomandibular disorders and orofacial pain at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Boston, USA. Dr. Zawawi is a Member of the Faculty of Dentistry at King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia, since 1993. He also served as a Research Associate at the Craniofacial Pain Center at Tufts University, Boston, MA, USA. His research interests are temporary anchorage devices (miniscrews), TMD and orofacial pain, and molecular and cell biology, especially the complex interactions between phagocytic cells and microorganisms, including pathways regulating inflammation and resolution of inflammation.
