Gonzalo Martínez-Barrera

GONZALO MARTINEZ-BARRERA studied at the UNAM (B.S. degree in physics and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in materials science) and then held a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of North Texas, USA. He has been serving as a Member of the National System of Researchers since 1997 and the SEP PROMEP Profile. He has published his research in various journals indexed in international circulation and in the national outreach. He has conducted several research projects, with funding from various institutions (COSNET, DGIT, UAEM, and CONACyT). He has taught several courses subjects to undergraduate and graduate level, as well as specialized courses on materials to various social and productive sectors. He currently conducts research on composite materials and their modification by using gamma radiation. Materials primarily in construction applications, including hydraulically and polymer concrete, which under ionizing energy treatments have high expectations of being the solution to the remediation of damage caused to buildings as well as the methodology.
