Chrissanthy Papadopoulou

Chrissanthy Papadopoulou serves as an Associate Professor in microbiology, Faculty of Medicine, School of Health Sciences at the University of Ioannina, Greece. She received her Veterinary Medicine degree from Aristotle’s University of Thessaloniki, where she completed her postgraduate studies in microbiology and infectious diseases and obtained a Ph.D. degree in microbiology. She has been trained in various European research institutes including the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK; Central Public Health Laboratory Service, Colindale, London, UK; Institut für Medizinische Parasitologie, Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms Universitat, Bonn, Germany; and Medical School, University of Cologne, Germany. Papadopoulou specializes in the fields of microbiology and infectious diseases with emphasis on food-water- environmental microbiology and zoonoses. She serves in various administrative committees of the UOI, in international and national scientific advisory committees, and in various European and national grant review committees, and she is a reviewer in 39 international scientific journals.
