Assoc. Prof. Dr Wong Tin Wui is the current Head of School of Pharmacy and Non-Destructive Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Research Centre, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. He obtained his PhD degree (Pharmaceutical Technology) in the year of 1999 from National University of Singapore. His areas of research expertise include design of particle and scaffold as drug carriers using natural polysaccharides such as chitosan, alginate and pectin. In year 2006, he set up Non-Destructive Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Research Centre through Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia for the purpose of investigating fundamentals in drug delivery and relating the findings to dosage form design in the fields of oral and transdermal delivery systems. Currently, a total of 8 PhD and 19 MSc students are pursuing their postgraduate degree under his guidance as the main supervisor on nanoparticles, microparticles, pellets, gel beads, scaffold and thin layer film design fundamentals. His works have translated into main stream journals such as Journal of Controlled Release, Pharmaceutical Research, Progress in Electromagnetic Research, International Journal of Pharmaceutics, European Journal of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics, Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Development and Technology, Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, Carbohydrate Polymers, Powder Technology and others.
