Sadhan Mahapatra obtained M.S. degree in physics (1994) from Visva‐Bharati, Shantiniketan, West Bengal, India, and M.Tech. degree in energy science and technology (1997) from the Jadavpur University, Calcutta, India, and is presently doing Ph.D. degree at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. Mahapatra is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Energy, Tezpur University, Assam, India. He is teaching solar energy, wind energy, and energy management and conservation. His research areas of interests are biomass gasification, climate responsive buildings, energy conservation, decentralized energy systems, and technoeconomic issues of renewable energy systems. He has published more than 40 papers in international journals and conference proceedings. He is a Life Member of Solar Energy Society of India (SESI), Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Institution of Engineers, Indian Science Congress, and so forth. He has served as a Reviewer of many international journals like Energy, Buildings and Environment, Solar Energy, Energy and Buildings, Energy for Sustainable Development, Journal of Cleaner Production, Indoor and Built Environment, RSC Advances, Energy and Environmental Science, International Journal of Low‐Carbon Technologies, Intelligent Buildings International, and so forth.
