Dario Echeverri

Dario Echeverri is a doctor with specializations in internal medicine, cardiology, cardiovascular hemodynamics, and cardiovascular interventionism. He is a scientist III at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, USA, in 2002. Currently, he is the Chief of Cardiovascular Hemodynamics and Cardiovascular Interventionism at Fundación Cardioinfantil-Instituto de Cardiología in Bogota. He is a Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Rosario University. Moreover, Echeverri is the Director of the Vascular Function Research Laboratory, Fundación Cardioinfantil. He was the former President of the Colombian Hemodynamics College. Currently, he is the President of the Latin American Society of Interventional Cardiology (SOLACI) (2009–2011). He is a principal investigator and coinvestigator of several national and international trials. In addition, he is a pioneer in his country of basic research in atherosclerosis and coronary restenosis in animal models and the study of vascular function in vitro. He has received many awards, nationally and internationally. He is a member of more than a dozen national and international scientific societies. Echeverri is an editorial committee member of several scientific journals. He is the author of three books and the codirector of several theses, autobook chapters, review articles, and original articles and presented over 190 abstracts at national and international conferences.
