Kennethhun Mok

K. Hun Mok joined Trinity College, Dublin as a Lecturer in the School of Biochemistry and Immunology in 2006. He received a B.S. degree in biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Ph.D. degree in chemistry from Purdue University, IN, USA. He subsequently entered the biopharmaceutical industry (CJ Corporation) as a Senior Research Scientist in cytokine development. Prior to coming to TCD, Dr. Mok worked as a Postdoc Research Fellow (first on a Chevening Scholarship) at The Oxford Centre for Molecular Sciences (OCMS), University of Oxford, England, UK and the Physical and Theoretical Chemistry Laboratory (PTCL) of the Department of Chemistry. Dr Mok's research interests involve addressing the “protein and peptide folding-misfolding problem, ” with an instrumentation specialty in biomolecular NMR spectroscopy, and with applications in human disease relevance in cancer and separately, neurodegenerative diseases.
