Carin von Muhlen

Carin von Muhlen is a Professor at the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), Resende, RJ, Brazil. She received the B.A. degree in chemistry from the Universidade Federal de Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil, the M.A. degree in science from the Universidade de Sao Paulo (USP), São Paulo, SP, Brazil, and the Ph.D. degree in chemistry from UFRGS and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), Melbourne, VIC, Australia (2007). Her research experience is related to multidimensional analytical techniques, such as comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography coupled with time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GCxGC;GC/TOFMS), gas chromatography, and mass spectrometry (GC/HRMS), directed to environmental applications, and her research line is actually focused on water. She has been a Member of the Council of the Brazilian Mass Spectrometry Society since 2010 and a Reviewer of several international journals. She was awarded the Young Researcher Award for young authors from the Brazilian Chemical Society and the REFAP Award on clean technologies from ABES-RS. She is the Coordinator of Centre of Technological Development and Innovation at UERJ (CDIT) and Director of the Centre of Water (CEAGUAS).
