Paolo Ruggerone

Paolo Ruggerone graduated from the University of Milan, Italy, and received his Ph.D. degree in condensed matter physics at the Scuola Normale in Pisa, Italy. He spent eight years at the Institutes of the Max-Planck-Society in Goettingen and Berlin. There, he obtained his Habilitation degree in theoretical physics. In 1998, he joined the condensed matter group of the University of Cagliari, where he has been appointed as an Associate Professor. In collaboration, he has started to work in the field of computational biophysics focusing on drug-DNA interaction, myoglobin and hemoglobin dynamics, bacterial resistance mechanisms, antibiotic-ribosome interaction, and inhibition mechanism of viral replication processes.
