Viswanathan Arunachalam

Viswanathan Arunachalam earned his M.S. degree in applied mathematics from Anna University, Madras, India, in 1991 and his Ph.D. degree in mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, India, in 1996. From 1996 to 1997, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Cell Research and Immunology, Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv, Israel. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Statistics, Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Bogotá, Colombia. His research interests include stochastic processes and their applications in biology, reliability, queuing theory, optimization, mathematics of financial derivatives, and statistics of financial markets. He has publications in several journals such as Optimization, Stochastic Analysis and Applications, Journal of Risk, International Journal of Theoretical and Applied Finance, Communications in Statistics-Simulation and Computation, Journal of Biological Systems, Computational and Mathematical Methods in Medicine, and Computers and Mathematics with Applications.
