Tewfiq EL-MALIKI is born in 1967 in Morocco and has received his B.S. degree with honors in mathematics and an M.S. degree in electrical engineering (telecommunication orientation) in 1992 from EPFL. He started as a Research and Development Engineer in the field of TV setup-box cryptography at Nagra-vision. In 1995, he worked as a Research Assistant in telecommunication laboratory at the EPFL and was in command of the work of Telecom PTT on xDSL systems. Afterward, he was a Product Manager and an Instructor of new telecommunications technologies at Swisscom. In 1999, he became a Project Manager at the Federal Office of Communications mainly in the fields of unbundling in the local loop and LRIC-based pricing for interconnection. He is currently working as a Professor of telecommunications, at the University of Applied Sciences of Geneva, Switzerland. His research interest includes Mobile and sensor network security and simulation. Presently, he is working on research project on digital identities and security in mobile and wireless sensor networks.
