Tonio Ball holds an M.D. degree and works as the Head of research group Intracranial EEG and Functional Brain Imaging, Department for General Neurosurgery, University Medical Center, Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. His areas of expertise include human electrophysiology (EEG, ECoG), motor system, brain-machine interfacing, and functional imaging. Ball is a Founding Member of the Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience (BCCN) and of the BMI Initiative at the University of Freiburg. He serves as a Principal Investigator in the Excellence Cluster BrainLinks-BrainTools at the University of Freiburg, Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany.
