Robert E. Cone

Robert E. Cone received his Ph.D. degree in microbiology/immunology from the University of Michigan, Mich, USA, and did postdoctoral research at the Walter and Elisa Hall Institute for Medical Research, Melbourne, Australia, and the Basel Institute for Immunology, Basel, Switzerland. He is a Professor at the Department of Immunology at the University of Connecticut Health Center and one of the Commissioners of the State of Connecticut Commission on Medicolegal Investigations. Previously, he was a faculty member at the Departments of Pathology and Surgery, Yale University, and the Director of the Yale University Histocompatibility and Cell Surface Marker Laboratory. His research interests include cellular and molecular mechanisms of immunoregulation, the basis of ocular immune privilege, and the regulation of autoimmunity. He has served on several NIH study sections, NASA review panels, and Arizona, California, and Florida’s Tobacco-Related Disease Research Programs. Dr. Cone serves on the editorial boards of three journals and has been an ad hoc reviewer for more than ten journals.
