Paolo Lonetti received a degree in civil engineering in 1998 from the University of Calabria, Cosenza, Italy. In 1999-2000, 2002, and 2006, he worked as Visiting Scientist and Visiting Ph.D. student at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of the West Virginia University. In 2003, he received a Ph.D. degree in "material and structural engineering" from the Department of Structural Engineering of the University of Calabria. From 2005 to 2011, he served as an Assistant Professor of structural engineering at the University of Calabria, Cosenza, Italy, and since 2011 he became an Associate Professor of structural engineering in the same university. His research interests include damage and fracture mechanics, bridge engineering, computational mechanics, and composites structures.
