Tianxi Liu received his Ph.D. degree in polymer chemistry and physics from Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Changchun, China, in 1998. He was an Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow from 1998 to 2000 at University of Dortmund, Dortmund, Germany. He was a Research Associate from 2000 to 2001 and a Research Scientist from 2002 to 2004 at Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), Singapore. He joined the Laboratory of Advanced Materials, Fudan University, Yangpu, Shanghai, China, as a Full Professor in 2004, and then moved to the Department of Macromolecular Science, Fudan University, in 2006. He has been the Vice Chairman of the Department of Macromolecular Science, Fudan University since 2009. He has published more than 150 articles in peer-reviewed journals (cited for more than 3000 times by the others, and H-index total number is 29). His current research interests include polymer nanocomposites, organic/inorganic hybrids, functional polymers, and the design-synthesis/preparation-processing-structure/ morphology properties/performance and the applications of polymers and polymer-based materials.
