Morten La Cour
Morten La Cour is an Experienced Vitreoretinale Surgeon, and a Professor in ophthalmic surgery in the University of Copenhagen. La Cour is currently collaborating with Drs. Henry J. Klassen and Michael Young in a multiuniversity effort to study retinal reconstruction using stem cells. La Cour leads a group with more than 10 years of experience in experimental ophthalmic surgery in porcine eyes. His team of currently 7 scientists pioneered the use of multifocal electroretinography to examine the functional consequences of experimental surgical procedures. He is also involved in clinical studies of vitreoretinal surgery and ophthalmic epidemiology. La Cour received his Doctoral degree (dr. med sci.) from the University of Copenhagen 1993; he has published more than 100 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. His Hirsch factor is 21 (March 2011).
