Seongsoo Hong earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in computer engineering from Seoul National University, Korea, in 1986 and 1988, respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1994. He is currently a Professor at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Seoul National University and an Affiliated Department Head of the Department of Intelligent Convergence Systems, Graduate School of Convergence Science and Technology at Seoul National University. Hong's current research interests include embedded and real-time systems design, real-time operating systems, embedded middleware, and software tools and environments for embedded real-time systems. He served as a General Cochair of IEEE RTCSA and CASES, 2006, and as a Program Committee Cochair of IEEE RTAS, 2005, RTCSA, 2003, IEEE ISORC, 2002, and ACM LCTES, 2001. He has served in numerous program committees, including IEEE RTSS and ACM OOPSLA. He is currently a Member of the IEEE and a Senior Member of the ACM.
